As the group stood within the head of the lion, one of us (everything’s a little vague when you’re done) spotted something fall by the opening cave-like mouth. Insidious. Malicious. Filled with evil intent. Sickly green eyes and thick drool glowed within dark shadows. Down in the pit of vile creatures, the black dragon readied its attack. This – this was a very bad move. Within my bird form, my tiny heart beat so fast I felt it would burst from my chest. This moment had me frozen. White surrounded my vision, dizziness overwhelming me. Past events surfaced within my mind. As though my soul wanted to be free from this fear of death. I felt like I was somewhere far away.
